More Of This, Please x October 2025
You're reading GET IT TOGETHER, a weekly newsletter about punk/indie/pop music and visual art from a queer-feminist perspective, exploring things that are adjacent to my own creative practice.
This is a free post, but you can support my work for $5/month by becoming a newsletter supporter or sharing this with a friend. Thanks for reading.
Worriers leaves for our last tour on Saturday and I can't wait. I had planned on writing something here about how touring in some capacity (as a different project) is still a possibility. However, I'm currently dealing with some logistical nonsense that has every bone in my body saying "I never want to deal with organizing people in a van to play music ever again." SO, do with that information what you will!
If you were on the fence about getting tickets to these shows, I would suggest coming to see us play one last time.
The music industry and the world at large is a dumpster fire, so here are some things that effectively distract me from that fact:
Dim Wizard song "Stoicism" w/ Katie Dey
I'm always excited to hear whatever new collaborative effort David Combs makes with the project Dim Wizard. Always fun but bittersweet, they find new ways to question society's assumptions of people and the pressure to be "strong." It's a bop! You can watch the lyric video here.
Good Luck is releasing a new record
After ten years, my favorite noodly emo-punk band Good Luck are releasing a new record! I will listen to anything Ginger Alford makes! It's called Big Dreams, Mister, and it comes out October 17 and that day can't get here fast enough.
Laura Stevenson is going on tour
Laura wrote an amazing and beautifully sad record this year and she's going on tour over the next couple of months. If you're in Texas, the West Coast, or the UK, you're in luck! I get to see her two days after my birthday. Something I'm really looking forward to.
Rescuing dogs with Isabel Klee
Do you ever just wake up and think maybe you should quit everything to become a TikTok influencer who fosters dogs to help get them adopted? And raise awareness about dogs in need and why you should never buy a dog from a breeder? No? Just me? Ok then.
